Transit (Gochar)
Gochar plots where the planets are right now directly on top of your lagna kundali, so you can see which natal houses and planets are being transited without redrawing anything. You can also step back a year or forward a year for any single planet.
Key takeaways
- Current transits plotted live over the natal lagna chart.
- Past-year and next-year transit detail for any planet.
- Read alongside the dasha timeline — dasha says who rules the period, gochar says where they are.
- Computed on the device from the same ephemeris as the natal chart.
- Premium feature.
What the transit view does
- Overlay on the natal chart — transiting planets appear in the natal houses, which is how a transit is actually judged.
- Per-planet timeline — pick a planet and see its movement across the previous and coming year, with the dates it changes sign.
- Current positions table for the moment you are looking at.
Why transits are read against the natal chart, not in the abstract
A statement like "Saturn is in Pisces" is the same for everybody alive. What differs is which of your houses Pisces is, and which of your natal planets sit there. Overlaying the transit on the natal chart turns a general almanac fact into something specific to one person — which is why this view puts the two on the same drawing rather than in two separate screens.
Outer planets
Uranus, Neptune and Pluto are available in Drik Siddhanta mode. They have no classical mean-motion tables, so they do not appear in Surya Siddhanta mode.
Frequently asked questions
Can I see transits over my own chart?
Yes — that is the default view. Transiting planets are plotted directly on your lagna kundali rather than shown as a separate list.
Can I check a transit for last year or next year?
Yes. For any planet you can view its transit detail across the previous year and the coming year, including sign-change dates.
Is gochar in the Free plan?
No, transit analysis is a premium feature. Charts, dasha, panchanga and patro are in the Free plan.
