Kundali matching (Gun Milan)

Jyotish Sarathi scores a match on the Ashtakoota system — the eight kootas totalling 36 guna — and shows both people's lagna and Navamsha charts plus their full dasha systems on the same screen, with a joint written faladesh. The score is the starting point of the reading, not the whole of it.

Premium feature

Key takeaways

  • Ashtakoota (36 guna) scoring across all eight kootas.
  • Both charts side by side: lagna and Navamsha for each person.
  • Both dasha timelines shown together, so you can see what period each person is actually in.
  • A joint faladesh in writing, not just a number.
  • Premium feature; computed on the device with your chosen siddhanta and ayanamsha.

What the app computes

  • Koota-by-koota breakdown — Varna, Vashya, Tara, Yoni, Graha Maitri, Gana, Bhakoot and Nadi, with the points each contributes.
  • Total guna out of 36 and the conventional reading of that band.
  • Both lagna kundalis and both Navamsha (D9) charts, drawn in your preferred style.
  • Both dasha trees — Mahadasha, Antardasha and Pratyantardasha for each person, so timing can be compared, not guessed.
  • Joint faladesh covering the combined chart picture.

Why the charts matter more than the score

A guna total compresses eight different tests into one number, and the tests are not equal in weight. Bhakoot and Nadi carry the most points and the most traditional caution; Varna and Vashya carry few. Two matches with the same total can therefore be very different cases. That is why this screen shows the underlying charts rather than only the total — the guide to Ashtakoota walks through what each koota is actually testing.

Consistency with the rest of the reading

The matching module uses the same chart calculation as everything else in the app, under the siddhanta and ayanamsha you selected. Because Bhakoot and Nadi depend on nakshatra placement, and nakshatra placement is sensitive to those settings, a match scored with different settings can genuinely differ — so keep them fixed across a family's charts.

Frequently asked questions

Which matching system does Jyotish Sarathi use?

Ashtakoota Gun Milan — the eight-koota, 36-guna system used across Nepal and North India. The app shows the points for each koota, not just the total.

Can I see both charts while matching?

Yes. Both people's lagna and Navamsha charts are shown together with both dasha systems and a joint faladesh, in one view.

Is kundali matching in the Free plan?

No — matching is a premium feature. Chart generation, dasha, panchanga and patro are in the Free plan.
