The five things Nepal actually needs

1. Vikram Sambat as a real calendar, not a converter bolted on

Birth dates in Nepal are recorded in Vikram Sambat. If the software only accepts AD dates, every chart starts with a manual conversion — and BS month lengths vary between 29 and 32 days, so a mental "+56 years" gets the year right and the date wrong. 2. Nepali as a first-class language

There is a difference between an app translated into Nepali and an app that was built to run in it. The test is the astrological vocabulary: does it say what a Nepali astrologer says, or a transliteration of the Hindi term? And does the Devanagari render properly on the device, in the cheena, and in the printout?

3. Nepali patro, festivals and Rahukaal

The Nepali festival calendar is not the Indian one, and Rahukaal is not a fixed table — it is one-eighth of the daylight period, so it moves with your latitude and the season. 4. Offline operation

Connectivity outside the larger towns is not something to design around optimistically, and a jyotishi consulting at a client's home cannot depend on it. A practising astrologer in Nepal delivers a cheena — a document the family keeps for decades. That is desktop work: a large screen for reading D1 to D60, and a printer. A phone-only app cannot close that loop.

Why the siddhanta and ayanamsha settings belong on this list

When your chart disagrees with the panchanga a client follows, there are only three possible causes: the computation method, the ayanamsha, or the birth-place coordinates and time zone.
